Anantnag, Jun 13 (KNO): A vital Bijbehara-Sirhama road which was macadamised two years ago is lying in a dilapidated condition causing inconvenience to commuters.
Locals from Sirhama, Wopzan, Badroo and several other areas said that two years ago, the PMGSY department had macadamised the road but within no time it developed cracks at several spots.
Lateef Ahmad, a resident of Kalan, told newsagency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the road connects dozens of villages with district headquarters and there is need for drainage at some spots as the household drains directly flow on the road, damaging the road.
People said the issue was brought into the notice of concerned authorities several times but nothing happened.
